Hey! I am Laila, your Holistic Health Coach and Personal Trainer. Throughout my life I have been passionate about health and fitness. I earned my degree in Biology from the University of Rhode Island and I hold certifications from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and The National Academy of Sports Medicine.
My education and training were put to the ultimate test in my own life after being diagnosed with Leukemia in my early 30’s. During an arduous journey of extensive treatment, I became intimately attuned to how crucial nutrition and movement were to my recovery and healing. After nearly a decade in remission, I received the news that I was pregnant with the miracle baby I always dreamed of. Shortly after, I also learned of the devastating news that my cancer had returned. (Read more about my story here.) Despite the odds and the prognosis of my condition, it was in the fight for my life and my unwavering desire to be a mom, I developed an even deeper admiration and appreciation for just how remarkable the human body is!
I am living proof that with proper nutrition, consistent exercise and community support, we can overcome any obstacle and rise to become to healthiest version of ourselves.
